The Buddha taught: "Each person must light his own torch"
The Buddha taught: "Each person must light his own torch, be his own lamp, rely on himself, do not rely on anything else. Use the Dharma as a lamp, use the Dharma as a refuge, do not rely on anything else".
Meaning: The Buddha's saying "Be your own lamp" means encouraging each person to be self-reliant, self-reliant, and illuminate his own path, instead of depending on others or external factors. It emphasizes the importance of developing inner strength, intelligence, and the ability to solve problems.
- Self-reliance: Each person needs to make their own efforts, not expecting help from the outside.
- Self-reliance: Overcome difficulties and challenges with your own strength.
- Self-enlightenment: Develop intelligence and knowledge to make decisions and take the right actions.
- Independent: Do not let yourself be dependent on others, circumstances, or material things.
- Find the light within: Discover and develop your own potential and value.
Therefore, the Buddha does not save us from suffering. Therefore, any temple or place that prays to the Buddha for peace and health is wrong. The Buddha said: "You light your own torch, I do not save you from suffering." Why do we now pray to the Buddha, to Quan Am, and Bodhisattva Mahasthamaprapta to save us from suffering and disaster?
Which religion do we follow? They have religions that pray, but we follow Buddhism and do not pray. We must save ourselves with our own consciousness, with our own strength to save ourselves from suffering. That is what is called Buddhism.
